The Real Choice We Face In This Election Year
This year we will vote for one U.S. President and MANY OTHER GOVERNMENT POSITIONS from the Local to the Federal level. The people who are elected will encourage/enable or discourage/disable the move toward authoritarian governance in the U.S.A.
History – how have authoritarians come to power in the past?
Combinations of elections and crimes and ignorance and apathy/ambivalence have led to Dictatorships / Authoritarianism / Totalitarianism
Past examples include:
Stalin – Russia / Soviet Union (1924 – 1953)
Hitler – Germany (1933 – 1945)
Mussolini – Italy (1922 – 1943)
Their decisions and direction led to the suffering and death of millions of human beings.
Today we see authoritarian examples such as:
Putin – Russia (2012 – 2024)
Kim Jong Un – North Korea (2012 – 2024)
and potentially – dtrump – USA ( ?? )
dtrump has made it clear that he admires authoritarian leaders. The question is will we enable or disable another trump term?
Since I cannot easily tell which candidates are True Republicans versus trumpublicans, I plan to vote all Democratic party this election cycle.
