The only constant is Change

Wow – timeline so far this year:

  • March 8 – State of the Union speech – Biden came out strong – “President Joe Biden delivered a defiant argument for a second term in his State of the Union speech … lacing into GOP front-runner Trump for espousing “resentment, revenge and retribution” and for jeopardizing freedom at home and abroad.” – AP News

however, several weeks later …

  • June 27 – CNN presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President trump – held at CNN’s Atlanta studios – Biden struggled – “Debate takeaways: Trump confident, even when wrong, Biden halting, even with facts on his side” – AP News
  • July 13 – trump assassination attempt while addressing a campaign rally near Butler, PA
  • July 15-18 – Republican National Convention – held in Milwaukee WI – JD Vance announced as running mate / VP candidate
  • July 21 – President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House – still serving out the remainder of his term in office – quickly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as Democratic candidate

The “uncertainty index” seems high, but not as high as other times in history (war, depression, etc.)

Over the next few weeks, a lot of people will make a decision and vote: Who should lead the Executive Branch of our Federal Government? The choice to me is still basically the same:
(a) the republican candidate who will basically open the doors for christian-nationalists and their Project 2025 playbook, reduce regulation for greedy private capitalists, and pardon or ignore violent self-appointed vigilantes (as long as they support him),
OR
(b) the Democratic candidate who can defend open democracy for the majority. As of today that candidate is Kamala Harris so she gets my support.
